The round table meeting "Social responsibility in banking". The experience in Kharkiv region was held in Kiev on July 31, 2007 at the Small Holl of the House of Counsil on the initiatetive of the Forum of the Social responsible business of Ukraine in the parthnership with Kharkiv regional Counsil and the Kharkiv press-club. Mr. Vasyl Salygin the Head of the Kharkiv regional Counsil, represantatives of leading banks in Kharkiv regions, the public organizations and journalists took part in the work of the round table meeting.

When opening the meeting mr. Vasyl Salygin underlined the importance of the bank charity and social activity for the local communities of the regions. He said the bankers had always been in first ranks charity people since the bank branch had appeared: "It is nice to mention that today the banks continue the best traditions of charity, aimed at the support of the young generation, the desire to introduce its part in the support of the national culture, education, health protection and so on. It is seen in the number of important social initiatives been introduced by the banks, particularly in Kharkiv regions.

Natalya Samolevska the represantative of the Social responsibility Business Forum admitted that todays round table meeting in Kharkiv was the start of the all-Ukrainian informational-enlightment programe "Social responsibility in banking". This year programe will be realized in Lviv, Simferopol, Dnipropetrovsk, Chernigiv, Odesa, Donetsk.

All the represantatives of the Kharkiv regional banks told about the examples of the social responsibility activity. Finally the round table meeting participans expressed their desire recomendations diling with the introduction of the principles of the banking social responsibility business.

Mr. Anatoliy Volok the head of the Kharkiv bank union said that the corporate managment principle introduction into the open joint-stock company "Megabank" enshures additional confidence to the customers share holders, depositors and the intrested people. Besides the corporate manegment introduction can be an effective measure against raiders attacks.

As Svetlana Sahtinova the open joint-stock company "Megabank" the corporative secretary says the bank has social responsibility consirning the kharkovities. Over 60 payment receiving points for the municipal services of the Single "Megabank" Accounting Centre are functionated for the convience of the city population. The account for the municipal service can be held not only at the payment receiving points and the banks departments but also at the "Megabank" cash mashines and the Single Accounting Centre website. The pensioners can get the Natuional System of the International Electronic Payment plastic cards when opening the pension account, can be used both for payment at the trade centers of the city and money removal from the ATM.
